CASE #1
This patient's diagnosis is a BRANCH RETINAL VEIN OCCLUSION (BRVO). The patient's blood pressure was measured and found to be 260/150 (which is VERY high). With that type of blood pressure, a stroke can happen at any time. An ambulance was called to take the patient to the hospital immediately. In hospital, once his blood pressure was under control, the retina specialist treated him with Lucentis injections directly to the eye. The patient was still in hospital at the time of this posting and as such we do not yet know how much improvement there is.).
