WORLD SIGHT DAY October 8th, 2009
Every year, the second Thursday of October has been designated as World Sight Day. The initiative is to eliminate preventable blindness across the world. In Canada, it is estimated that 70% of all vision loss is preventable. In Toronto, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario The Honourable David C. Onley hosted a reception in his receiving suites at Queen's Park for volunteers and doctors of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). Dr. Mandadakis was honoured to have been invited, participate in the event, meet and discuss important issues with the Hon. David Onley.
